Discuss, consider and take appropriate action to terminate contract between Williamson County, Texas and Stericycle, Inc. for the provision of collection and disposal of regulated medical waste generated by Williamson County EMS; and authorize county judge to sign notice of termination.
Background
Williamson County EMS is currently in a contract with Stericycle for disposal services of regulated medical waste. The Williamson County Commissioners Court, as the legislative body for the county, has decided to make changes in this category of services, including the present contract. Pursuant to the Addendum for Paragraph 2 of the contract document, which allows for termination with a sixty (60) day notice: Either party may terminate this agreement for convenience and without cause or further liability upon sixty (60) days written notice …
Therefore, the purpose of this letter is to give Stericycle official notice that Williamson County elects to terminate the agreement between the parties, and such termination will be effective in sixty (60) calendar days.
