Agenda Item
Discuss, consider and take appropriate action regarding extension of the Local Initiative Program contract with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for the biennium ending August 31, 2019.
Background
This is an associated action to that taken by the Court on 8/1/17 to extend the contract on the Low Income Vehicle Repair Assistance, Retrofit, and Accelerated Vehicle Retirement Program (LIRAP). The Local Initiative Program (LIP) utilizes a portion of funds collected as part of the same inspection and maintenance (I/M) fee assessed. Funds under this program may be spent on air quality related projects or enforcement as a grant match. The Court took action on 8/1 to withdraw from that program while extending the LIRAP contract to 8/31/19 to allow Williamson County to expend LIRAP obligated funds to the greatest extent possible. This associated action will allow Williamson County to expend funds that were allocated to the LIP during the same biennium period. The effective amount of those funds will be $120,484.
Staff recommendation: Authorize County Judge (or designee) to execute Amendment Number 2 to Contract 582-14-40118.
