Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a Services Contract for the Texas Veterans Commission Grant Services between Williamson County and Omar S. Lopez, Ph.D.
Background
The Williamson County Commissioners Court unanimously approved the submittal of a grant application to the Texas Veterans Commission on November 1, 2016. The grant application was to augment the grant received by the Governor’s Office for the Williamson County Veterans Treatment Court by providing more comprehensive service for veterans, including the use of music and life planning to help veterans achieve effective and sustainable recovery. The grant was awarded funding and began on July 1, 2017. The service agreements will provide certified drum facilitators for drum circles, guitar lessons for veterans that respond better in a one-on-one environment, life planning services and a contract licensed Master Level Psychologist to ensure quality practice standards are met. No match was required for the grant.
