Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the issuance of a county-wide burn ban, for a period not to exceed 90 days, and to authorize the County Judge to lift burn ban if conditions improve.
Background
Local fire departments are experiencing an significant increase in wildland fires, many of which were the result of controlled burns getting out of control. While soil moisture is not critically low, hard freezes have killed much of the grasses and they ar enow extremely susceptible to ignition.
