Discuss, consider and take appropriate action regarding appointment of a county fire marshal to be effective upon office creation or as determined by the Court for a term of office not to exceed two years pursuant to authority granted to commissioners court under Tex. Loc. Gov’t Code. §§ 352.011 & .012. Action may include requirement to post an official bond in an amount determined by the commissioners court as set forth in Tex. Loc. Gov’t Code. § 352.012.
Background
Positions for the County Fire Marshal Office were funded during the FY18 annual budget process, with the expressed understanding that a County Fire Marshal office would be created.
