Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on awarding IFB #1810-265 North Mays Extension Project to the Lowest responsive bidder, Capital Excavation and authorizing the execution of the agreement.
 

Williamson County received 9 bids and the IFB was viewed by 78 suppliers. The contractors bid is $2,618,690.61 below the Engineer’s estimate and was very competitive with the lowest 5 bidders being within 10% of the low bidder. In addition to meeting the bid requirements, Capital Excavation has successful completed past projects for Williamson County including County Road 300/301, County Road 214 and Ronald Reagan South Phase 1. Capital Excavation has also performed similar work for TxDOT and the City of Austin and received positive reviews from the references contacted. Based on the low bid of $10,775,835.75 and the previous quality of work done for Williamson County, HNTB concurs with the Design Engineer’s (LJA) Recommendation of Award for the North Mays Extension contract to Capital Excavators.  HNTB is the point of Contact and P224 will be utilized.
