Agenda Item
Discuss, consider and take any appropriate action regarding the creation and approval of the Williamson County Board of Appeals for county fire code enforcement.
Background
The 2015 International Fire Code Section 108 has an appeal process that allows a citizen to appeal a ruling by the Fire Marshal and the Senior Director of Emergency Services related to fire code enforcement. This facilitates a check and balance for a citizen to make a petition to a Board of Appeals pertaining to the application and intent of the fire code for the purpose of issuing orders pursuant to these provisions.
The Fire Marshal’s Office is seeking guidance from the Court on how members of this Board of Appeals are nominated. An attachment is provided for reference on the creation of a Board of Appeals.
