Discuss, consider and take appropriate action regarding the Master’s Peace Officer’s Certification pay for new hire for PCN#0058 in the District Attorney Office.

The new hire for PCN#0058 in the District Attorneys’ Office meets the qualifications for Master’s Peace Officer’s Certification pay. The funds are currently available and have already been approved and appropriated in this year’s budget.  As the policy currently stands, new hires are not eligible to receive certification pay when they are initially hired without Court approval. We are placing this on the Agenda for the courts consideration to approve the certification per the Court’s own policy and allow the new hire in PCN#0058 to receive Master’s Peace Officer’s Certification pay as of his start date which is March 1, 2019.
