Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on awarding IFB #1901-285 CR 176 at RM 2243 to the lowest responsive bidder, Joe Bland Construction and authorizing the execution of the agreement.
Background
Williamson County received 7 bids and the IFB was viewed by 91 suppliers. The Contractor’s low bid is $286,733.40 below the Engineer’s Estimate, a cost savings of 10.5%. Bidding was very competitive with the second lowest bidder being within $350.00 of the low bidder. In addition to meeting the bid qualifications subject to being low bidder, Joe Bland Construction has successfully completed past projects for Williamson County including County Road 119 and Ronald Reagan at Santa Rita. Based on the low bid of $2,447,560.00 and the previous quality of work done for Williamson County, HNTB concurs with the Design Engineer’s (LJA) Recommendation of Award for the CR 176 at RM 2243 contract to Joe Bland Construction. HNTB is the point of Contact and P241, Road Bonds will be utilized.
