Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 5 (Chasco Constructors) in the amount of -$343,688.29, a Road Bond project in Commissioner's Pct. 3.

Background

This Change Order provides the final balancing for the overrun/underrun of Contract quantities on the project as a result of addressing field conditions not accounted for in the original plans and adds eight (8) days to the contract for work added in Change Order #2. The cost of Item 999-WC02 Fiber Relocation was unknown prior to the bid. An estimated cost of $250,000.00 was included in the contract for this item. The Contractor submitted a cost of $71,529.14 for the work which resulted in a savings of $178,470.86 to the contract.

This Change Order results in a decrease of $343,688.29 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of 5,256,692.67.  The original Contract amount was $5,352,696.00. As a result of this final Change Order, $96,003.33 has been deducted from the Contract, resulting in a 1.79% net decrease in the Contract cost.
