Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the purchase of (2) Replacement 4000 Gallon Stainless Steel Water Tanks for the Williamson County Road and Bridge Department for the amount of $96,500.00 and exempting the purchase from the competitive bidding requirements per Texas Local Government Code Section 262.024.(7)(D).

Background

UWT1604 and UWT1606 are currently equipped with 4000 gal. steel water tanks. These trucks are being used as front- line vehicles, hauling clean water to jobsites. In the past year, we have seen the tanks suffer from corrosion on the inside, resulting in chunks of rust and debris clogging the gravity flow system. The original vendor of these units was contacted because they can provide replacement tanks without the need of a replumb and respec and downtime will be significantly reduced. Full details are provided in the attached justification document. Department point of contact is Ron Roberts. Funding source 01.0200.0210.005003. Funding was approved in the FY20 Budget.
