This Change Order provides the final balancing for the overrun/underrun of Contract quantities on the project as a result of addressing field conditions not accounted for in the original plans. In addition, there were a couple of items encountered during construction that prevented the Contractor from completing the project on time. The major cause was the lead time for the traffic signal items. The other cause was encountering an existing water line that was in conflict with the proposed grading along the north side of Loop 332. This water line had to be relocated to maintain the required minimum amount of cover over the line. An additional 33 days are being added to the Contract in order to cover the time necessary to complete the work.
