Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on exempting Whooster, Inc. from competitive bidding requirements established by Section §§ 262.024 (a)(7) of the Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemptions as the sole provider of Whooster's SMS/MMS text-based service in the amount of $7,180.00.
Background
Approval of this sole source will support the operations of the Williamson County Sheriff's Office. Whooster is the sole provider of an SMS/MMS based tool that provides real time information to investigators. An RFI was posted in Negometrix for 14 days with zero responses received from possible competitors. IT has approved this application. The term of this sole source exemption will be effective for 36 months from the date of approval. This expenditure will be charged to 01.0100.0560.004210. Funding was approved in the FY20 budget.
