Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on reappointing Marlene S. McMichael to the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD) Board of Directors to serve a three (3) year term commencing effective January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2022.

Background

Marlene McMichael has served on the WCCHD Board of Directors since November 1, 2016.   After Commissioners Court appointment to the Board, she was elected by the WCCHD Board to serve as Chair of the Board, which she currently fills. Ms. McMichael is a native Texan and has spent much of her career working in the around the Texas Legislature. She has held senior positions with five members of the Texas House of Representatives and a state senator. For nearly seven years, she was also executive director of the largest bipartisan caucus in the Texas Legislature, then widely recognized as the most influential group within the Texas House. During a sojourn from state government, McMichael worked for several private entities and eventually opened her own consulting firm, specializing in governmental affairs and community relations. She is currently Associate Vice Chancellor for Government Affairs at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) and was a recipient of the Chancellor's Excellence Award in 2014.
 Ms. McMichael is a summa cum laude graduate of Texas State University and the William P. Hobby Center for Public Service. Ms. McMichael holds a national certification as a Certified Public Manager.  Ms. McMichael lives in Georgetown, Texas, where she remains active in her community and has served on a number of non-profit boards in Austin, Georgetown and Killeen, including a tenure as 2012 Chairman of the Board for the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and President of the Board for the Williamson County Children's Advocacy Center.
