Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a line item transfer for the Elections Department.

Background

This transfer is to allow for the purchase of one-hundred (100) protective shield barriers for use at voter check-in stations at in-person polling locations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These shields are designed to support public health measures at polling locations by providing a barrier between voters and poll workers. We hope to have these shields in use when Early Voting begins on July 6, 2020 for the Democratic Primary Runoff Election on July 14, 2020.They will also be used for future elections, including the November 3, 2020 Presidential Election with Early Voting beginning on October 19, 2020. An approved ICS 213RR has been obtained from the Auditor's Office.
