Agenda Item
Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on establishing a County Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Strategic Stockpile.
Background
The recent experience of the COVID-19 pandemic that continues presently reinforces the need for the County to have a stockpile of personal protective equipment (PPE) for first responders and county staff to meet the needs of serving Williamson County residents. Williamson County Emergency Services wants to work with Commissioners Court to consider establishing a PPE Strategic Stockpile to avoid supply chain challenges when this resource is needed to perform governmental functions during an emergency. By establishing a stockpile, this positions the County in a much better position to navigate supply chain issues when too many customers are in the market for the same products.
