Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on a First Amended and Restated Social Service Funding Agreement between Williamson County and the Lone Star Circle of Care in relation to the Wilco Forward Grant Program that is funded through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act for response to the Coronavirus Disease (COVID 19) pandemic through December 31, 2021 with the remainder of the contract to be funded through the Tobacco Fund.
Background
The Commissioners Court approved the original agreement with Lone Star Circle of Care on December 22, 2020. At this time the CARES Act funding was scheduled to expire on, December 30, 2020. After the original agreement was approved, the CARES Act was extended to December 31, 2023. The First Amended and Restated funding agreement will allow for payment of services that will take place during the extension period of the CARES Act. The funding will provide for updated 3-D mobile mammography imaging for early identification of breast cancer, as well as primary and mental health/behavioral health services for uninsured individuals during the pandemic.
