Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on accepting subgrant award money from the University of Texas-Austin for Juvenile Services.
Background
WCJS is being awarded subgrant monies in the total amount of $56,475.38 over a three-year period. The department is receiving the funds for collaborating with UT-Austin on a grant titled Reducing Disproportionate Minority Contact in Williamson County, Texas, which they received through the office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The scope of work for WCJS is to:
1) Assist in the establishment of cross-sector partnerships
2) Ensure representation from the OJJDP-specified critical contact points
3) Participate in the review of related policies and recommendation of policy action
All funds received will be used to offset the salary and fringe benefits for Matt Smith, WCJS Asst Executive Director. The funding breakdown for each year is as follows:
Year 1 - $18,353.67
Year 2 - $18,791.59
Year 3 - $19,330.12
