Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $7,027.00 for T1740 Sam Bass Rd Interim Signals (Austin Traffic Signals), Road Bond Project in Commissioner Pct.1 P:462 Funding Source: Road Bond.
Background
This Change Order adds a protected left turn phase to the signal pattern for the westbound and eastbound left turn lanes on Sam Bass Road at the intersection with Great Oaks Drive. In a review of the traffic flow after the installation of the traffic signals, it was determined that a protected left turn phase was necessary. To accommodate the protected left turn phase, the 3 section signal heads facing the left turn lanes will need to be replaced with 4 section signal heads. This change order also adds a new lane assignment sign facing northbound lanes on Great Oaks to provide notification of the lane assignments at the intersection and corrects the street designation sign to Arrowhead Circle instead of Arrowhead Drive. Existing bid item quantities were overrun to pay for other revisions.
