Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on exempting this extension from the competitive bidding requirements, per Texas Local Government Code Section 262.024.(a)(2) (an item necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the residents of the county), and obtain approval of the contract extension for Jail Food Services (RFP 1605-081) between Williamson County, Texas and Aramark Correctional Services, LLC for 30 days until November 30, 2021, in order to allow the new Sheriff Office administration to complete the RFP process in this category of services to support county jail operations.
Background
This is a recommended contract extension through October 31, 2021, to allow staff to complete the evaluation process for the recent RFP solicitation for Jail Food Services. The department points of contact are Kurt Showalter and Kathleen Pokluda. Funding Source: is Food Service, 01.0100.0570.003306.
