Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $7,471.00 for Project T4320 CR 401, 402, 404 (Texas Materials), a Road Bond project in Commissioner Pct. 4 P:390 Funding Source: Road Bond.
Background
This Change Order compensates the Contractor for installing new mailbox stands for property owners along the project and extends an existing 18” Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) that was located along the edge of the roadway.
The overlay raised the elevation of the final pavement surface 4 inches. Due to the new elevation of the roadway, the existing mailbox stands no longer met minimum height standards. The existing mailboxes were replaced with new ones at the correct height from the new pavement.
This Change Order also compensates the Contractor for extending an existing CMP drainage pipe that stopped right at the edge of the existing pavement edge. The CMP was extended to alleviate the existing drop-off condition at the intersection of CR 403 and CR 401. The extension also improved the turning radius at the intersection.
This Change Order results in a net increase of $7,471.00 to the Contract amount, for an adjusted Contract total of $930,180.84. The original Contract amount was $922,709.84. As a result of this and all Change Orders to-date, the Contract has been increased by $7,471.00, resulting in an 0.8% net increase in the Contract cost. No additional days will be added to the Contract, as a result of this Change Order.
