Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the Interlocal Cooperation Contract between Williamson County and Department of Public Safety (DPS) for Crime Laboratory Services, for a four (4) year term, not to not exceed $1,434,228.22.
Background
This is a continuation of the contractual relationship wherein DPS has agreed to analyze controlled substances, marijuana, and blood alcohol evidence submitted by law enforcement agencies within Williamson County. DPS will assign the services of three (3) full time Forensic Scientists employees to perform said services. The DPS staff will be assigned to prioritize Williamson County cases before examining evidence from other agencies as long as this contract is in place. Agreement provides for the assigned staff to utilize DPS equipment for sample analysis. This contract will terminate on September 30, 2026. Legal, Contract Audit and Budget have reviewed this contract. The line item expenditure is 01.0100.0560.004100 beginning FY23 for $358,454.68, FY24 $358,659.43, FY25 $358,454.68 and FY26 $358,659.43.
