Agenda Item

Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on participation by Williamson County Road Bond Program under the County's habitat conservation plan (HCP) for a portion of Corridor H, improvements to Sam Bass Road.

Background

This portion of Corridor H proposes to improve the two-lane portion of Sam Bass Road to a three to four-lane roadway with curb and gutters to include shoulders with much of the alignment reconstructed north of the existing roadway (project). The existing roadway will be removed and regraded. The project would also include installation of a 10-foot-wide shared-use path north of the Sam Bass Road and intersection improvements at RM 1431, Walsh Ranch Boulevard, and Great Oaks Drive, Williamson County, Texas. The project area is approximately 2.5 miles long and encompasses approximately 44.1 acres.  The project lies over geological Karst Zone 1 and may impact habitat features of listed species.

Staff recommends the following action: Authorize County Judge (or designee) to acknowledge/sign the Determination Letter to enroll the project under the Williamson County Regional Habitat Conservation Plan, and to execute, when presented, the Participation Agreement for this project, WCCF File #20220906 and to sign any related documents as may be required.
