Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving a quote for equipment and materials from I-Con Systems, Inc. for the Williamson County Jail in the amount of $38,522.07, and exempting I-Con Systems, Inc. from competitive bidding requirements per Texas Local Government Code §262.024(a)(7)(D)[captive replacement parts or components for equipment].
Background
Approval of this item will facilitate the purchase of controllers, solenoids, valve fittings, manifolds, actuators with associated fittings, and appurtenances needed to manage and control the dispensing of water throughout the jail prison cells meeting TAC Title 37 Public Safety and Corrections, Part 9 Texas Commission on Jail Standards; All materials are compatible and equal to existing captive equipment and control systems used for the jail. Installation will be done by Facilities Management personnel, and through a service contract for the larger scope elements. Materials will be installed in the medical section of the Jail as well as replace items damaged during construction projects and by inmates throughout their tenure in the jail. Funding source is 01.0100.1008.004059. Department point of contact is Angel Gomez.
