Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on awarding IFB #24IFB19 for Construction of County Road 138 Right Turn Lane to SH 130 to the lowest and best bidder, Smith Contracting, for the amount of $1,748,938.75 and authorizing the execution of the agreement. The funding source is P463.  

Williamson County sent out over five thousand (5,000) notifications with fifty-nine (59) document takers and received five (5) submitting bids. The bids have been reviewed and the apparent low bidder, Smith Contracting, was found to be responsive and materially balanced.  Their lowest bid of $1,748,938.75 was 23.3% below the Engineers' estimate. The bidding was competitive with the lowest two bidders being within 15.1% of each other.  In addition to meeting the bid qualifications subject to being the low bidder, Smith Contracting has successfully completed previous projects for Williamson County. Based on the quality of work performed and a favorable working relationship with the County and its representatives, staff recommends award of IFB #24IFB19 for construction of County Road 138 Right Turn Lane to SH130 to Smith Contracting for the amount of $1,748,938.75.
