Discuss, consider and take appropriate action to authorize the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to apply for the Lower Colorado River Authority Community Grant.

The Sheriff's Office is seeking to apply for the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) Community Grant to fund the purchase of four Grappler sets. Grapplers are lifesaving tools designed to safely slow and then stop moving vehicles, preventing high-speed pursuits and assisting in medical emergencies. This grant will provide equipment to be mounted on four Sheriffs' Office vehicles; one assigned to each Patrol shift. The total amount of the grant is approximately $30,536.00. A 20% match of $6,108.00 is required.  Staff recommends the following action: Authorize the LCRA Community Grant and permit appropriate County department personnel to complete documentation relevant to its implementation.
