Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the engagement of the law firm of Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP to represent the Williamson County Sheriff in relation to (1) Case No. 1:25-cv-02094-ADA; Kevin Lewis Walker v. State of Texas, et al.; in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division; and (2) Case No. 1:25-cv-02153-ADA; Kevin Lewis Walker v. State of Texas, et al.; in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, Austin Division; and exemption of these services from the competitive bid/proposal requirements of the County Purchasing Act pursuant to the discretionary exemption for personal or professional services, as set forth under Texas Local Government Code § 262.024(a)(4).
