Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on authorizing the Williamson County Sheriff, Williamson County Constable Precinct 1, 2, 3 & 4, Williamson County Attorney, Williamson County District Attorney and Williamson County Fire Marshal to conduct programs for the issuance or denial of certificates of weapons proficiency for retired Williamson County peace officers and former Williamson County reserve law enforcement officers in accordance with the requirements set forth under Texas Occupations Code §1701.357.
Background
In order to comply with state law, we (District Attorney Shawn Dick, County Attorney Dee Hobbs, Sheriff Robert Chody, Precinct 1 Constable Vinnie Cherrone, Precinct 2 Constable Rick Coffman, Precinct 3 Constable Kevin Stofle, Precinct 4 Constable Marty Ruble, Fire Marshal Marty Herrin) shall comply with the requirements specified in the Texas Occupations Code, Title 10, OCCUPATIONS RELATED TO LAW ENFORCEMENT AND SECURITY, CHAPTER 1701, LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, SECTION 1701.357.
