Discuss, consider and take appropriate action to authorize the Williamson County Sheriff's Office to apply for the Good Neighbor Citizenship Company Grant through the State Farm Foundation.

The Sheriff's Office is seeking approval to apply for approximately $17,000.00 through the State Farm Foundation's Good Neighbor Citizenship Company Grant to purchase an electronic highway reader board. The reader board is approximately 8 ft. wide, 4 1/2 ft. tall and will be used to notify the public of various events, such as extended road closures, major traffic delays, special events, school zones, special traffic initiatives, and general departmental information.

Staff recommends the following action: Approve the Sheriff's Office to apply for this grant and authorize appropriate County department personnel to complete documentation relevant to the implementation of the grant.
