Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on awarding 2138 IFB CR 101 Construction to the lowest responsive bidder, James Construction Group and authorizing the execution of the agreement.
Background
Williamson County received 8 bids and the IFB was viewed by 21 suppliers. The contractors low base bid is $861,439.46 below the Engineer’s estimate, a cost saving of 6.2 % The bidding was very competitive with the lowest four bidders being within 10% of each other.
In addition to meeting the bid qualification subject to being low bidder, James Construction is performing similar work on another Williamson County Project (Southwest Bypass Segment 2 and CR110 Middle). The Contractor has successfully completed past projects for TxDOT throughout the State. Based on the low bid of $13,092,842.00 and the ongoing quality of work being done for Williamson County, HNTB concurs with the Design Engineer’s (BGE) Recommendation of Award for the CR101 contract to James Construction Group. LLC in the Amount of $13,092,842.00.
HNTB is the point of Contact and P269, Road Bonds will be utilized.
