Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving an agreement between Williamson County and the Friends of Berry Springs Park and Preserve, Inc. The Friends are a volunteer organization designed to support the operations of Berry Springs Park and Preserve. The agreement has been reviewed and approved by Legal and Audit.
Background
In coordination with the Parks Department, the primary functions and purpose of the Friends Group is to:
•Provide volunteer assistance with routine park operations related to administrative and maintenance duties.
•Complete pre-approved projects designed to enhance park operations, visitor experiences and conservation based initiatives.
•Serve as volunteer guides to deliver interpretive/educational programs, hikes and assistance with special events.
•Serve as an advocate for the park to help generate and promote support, interest and awareness of the park, its resources and value to the community.
