Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the Laboratory Reference Agreement between Williamson County and American Institute of Toxicology, Inc. to provide clinical laboratory services in relation to COVID-19 testing, exempting the purchase of these services from the competitive bidding requirements per Texas Local Government Code Section 262.024(a)(2) and authorizing execution of the agreement.
Background
The American Institute of Toxicology, Inc. (AIT) is a laboratory located in Denton, Texas that provides laboratory testing services. This agreement provides that the county will pay AIT a fee of $75.00 per specimen for Infectious Disease (“ID”) Testing for the COVID-19 pathogen as ordered by an authorized ordering provider. The intent of the agreement is to provide for testing of Williamson County’s first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic.
