Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the agreement between Georgia K9 NTC and Williamson County for the purchase of a trailing K9 and handler training in the amount of $14,000, and authorizing execution of the agreement. (Forfeiture funds).

Approval of this purchase will support the operations of the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.  The Sheriff's Office obtained 3 quotes for this purchase to be in compliance with County Purchasing policy.  The proposal attached outlines the details of the K9 purchase and required handler training to include 80 hours of Intermediate Trailing, K9 health & welfare, detection, and obedience handler’s course conducted at South Carolina facility.  Legal and Contract Audit have both reviewed the proposal.  Initial payment of $7,000 for handler training was released by Auditor's Office on 7/14/20 to accommodate start of handler training course on 7/20/20.  Final payment is due upon completion of training course, at which time Williamson County Sheriff's Office will take possession of K9.  This expenditure will be charged to 01.0410.0411.003104 (Forfeiture funds).  Department contact is Chief Tim Ryle.
