Agenda Item
Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on the issuance of a county-wide burn ban for a period not to exceed 90 days and to authorize the County Judge the authority to lift the order banning outdoor burning if conditions improve.
Background
The current conditions in Williamson County are: Average KBDI value of 573 (Scale of 1–800) with approximately 25% of the county experiencing KBDI values exceeding 648. After reviewing the burn ban matrix analytics, and current conditions, the current order allowing outdoor burning should expire due to the determination from the Williamson County Fire Marshal that the circumstances present in the unincorporated areas of Williamson County create a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning.
