Agenda Item

Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on exempting Fidlar, A Cathedral Company, from the competitive bidding requirements established by Section 262.024.(a)(2) of the Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemptions, for mail-in ballot services during a pandemic to protect the public health or safety of the residents of the county and authorizing execution of the quotation.

Background

Approval of this item will support the operations of the Williamson County Elections Department for the upcoming November 3rd Presidential Election.  Mail in ballots are an integral part of elections, especially during the COVID-19 Pandemic.  The Elections Department obtained three quotes for the service.  Exact costs are unknown as pricing is done on a per ballot basis and the total number of ballets has yet to be determined.  This expenditure will be charged to 01.0100.0492.004251 and 01.0375.0375.004251 for the ballots and 01.0100.0492.004212 and 01.0375.0375.004212 for the postage.  The Auditor's Office has approved the prepayment of postage for this service as required by the vendor.  Department contact is Christopher Davis.
