The Commissioners Court unanimously approved Judge Larson's grant application requesting funding from the Office of Governor to support a Family Recovery Court (FRC), which will improve the outcomes for children involved in the CPS system who have been removed from their homes. The FRC program works with community partners using a non-adversarial, collaborative approach to achieve improved outcomes for children.  Parents wanting to obtain long-term recovery from substance abuse disorders are assisted with their goals, allowing them to create a healthy household to raise their children when they are returned.  Fostering Hope has been a key non-profit partner and has operated as the project manager for the Family Recovery Court program.
