Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on CDBG-MIT Flood Monitoring System Grant request and accompanying resolution.

The 2019 Road Bonds included funds to seek and provide a match for grants to assist Williamson County in developing a Flood Monitoring Program. The total grant amount sought is for $3,731,500.00. Williamson County is offering a 10% match from the 2019 Road Bond Funds to enhance our chance at securing the grant. Maintenance of the hardware, software, stream depth gauges and warning lights are estimated to be $100,000.00 per year and will be split between OEM and Road and Bridge at a yet to be determined ratio. A more exact maintenance cost estimate for future years is attached along with replacement costs of items at five-year intervals. OEM and Road & Bridge are considering this a "trial" or "experimental" program and will report back to the court its recommendation for expansion, modification, or elimination in 5 years before the replacement of computer hardware and software is required. No additional staff are needed as a result of this grant request.
