Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving the purchase of security services for early voting and election day from the City of Austin in the amount of $5,325.00 and exempting the City of Austin from the competitive bidding requirements as per Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemption 262.024(a)(2) - an item necessary to preserve the health and safety of the residents of the county.
Background
Approval of this purchase will support the operations of Williamson County Elections Department in the upcoming Presidential Election. Quote attached outlines security services to be provided in the amount of $5,325.00 for the dates of October 13, 2020 - October 30, 2020 and for November 3, 2020, COA General & Special Elections.
