Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on approving a resolution authorizing a Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, grant application award in the amount of $228,282.00 for the DWI/Drug Court Program enhancements for Award Number 2020-MU-BX-0103.
Background
The mission of the misdemeanor Williamson County DWI/Drug Court Program (DDCP) is to enhance public safety by providing supervision and treatment to offenders through a judicially supervised, therapeutic Court that ensures accountability and recovery. The Honorable Laura Barker has implemented program improvements that have resulted in greater efficiencies in the program and life-changing transformations in the lives of those that participate. Grant funds will improve the quality and intensity of program services and expand treatment capacity. Grant funding approval will allow the DDCP to create a new track for high risk/low needs participants that could previously not receive the appropriate treatment and monitoring.
