Agenda Item

Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on exempting Stryker Medical from the competitive bidding requirements established by Section 262.024 (a) (7) of the Texas Local Government Code Discretionary Exemptions, as the sole provider for Lucas CPR Device and Maintenance Program for the Williamson County EMS and authorizing the purchase.

Background

The device allows consistent, high-quality chest compressions at the recommended levels.  It allows providers to avoid potentially dangerous situations when performing CPR during patient transport.  It potentially reduces CPR-related injuries to CPR providers.  These devices are replacing current equipment that is due for life-cycle replacement with initial cost of $59,511.80.  The Sole Source posting was in Negometrix4 for 14 days with no competitive responses received. The requested Sole Source designation would be applicable for a period of 36 months. Point of contact is Mike Knipstein. Funding Source FY 2021: 0100-0540-005000
