Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on purchasing two (2) BMW R1250 RTP Motorcycles for the Sheriff's Office from BMW Motorcycles of North Dallas for $29,097.66 per unit for a total of $58,195.32.

The Purchasing Department solicited sealed bids under IFB T2979 for two (2) BMW R1250 RTP Motorcycles.  No bids were received from suppliers.  There are few BMW Dealerships due to the strict guidelines by BMW.  In the event of no bids are received, Williamson County Purchasing Policy allows for a quote to be utilized for the purchase for a period of 12 months, per LGC 262.0245.  A quote is attached for the motorcycles from BMW Motorcycles of North Dallas.  The total purchase amount for both units will be $58,195.32.  The line item expenditure will be 01.0100.0560.005700.  The purchase budgeted in the FY 21 budget.  The Point of Contact will be Commander James David. 

The Purchasing Department is in ongoing conversations with the Fleet Committee on developing and adopting a standard specification for the Sheriffs' Office motorcycles and documenting that process and determination for the Court.
