Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on a resolution proclaiming May 20, 2021, as National Stop the Bleed Day in Williamson County.

Background

STOP THE BLEED® is one of our nation’s largest public health campaigns. Its goal is to save lives by training people across the country how to stop traumatic bleeding.

National STOP THE BLEED® Day is a one day call to action on May 20, 2021.  Anyone can be trained and be ready to save someone’s life – a friend, a family member, colleague or the person next to you – whether you know them or not.

Since 2017, Williamson County EMS Outreach Education Program has directly taught STOP THE BLEED to 3455 provider-level individuals and 531 trainers for a total of 3,986 people. With the addition of people who were trained by these trainers, WCEMS has proudly reached more than 5,400 people!

On May 20, 2021, WCEMS will teach two sessions of Stop the Bleed from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at 3189 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX. Register at stopthebleed@wilco.org.
