Discuss, consider and take action to acknowledge termination of the Chapter 381 Agreement between Williamson County and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company and 2015 La Frontera Plaza, LTD.

Background

Both Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing (HMH) Company and 2015 La Frontera Plaza, Ltd have requested to terminate the Chapter 381 Agreement as of the end of Tax Year 2020.  We have placed the emails in our files and reviewed with legal that the Commissioners Court accepting their request for termination can be done by a vote on this agenda item for the record.  The agreement was set to run thru Tax Year 2021.  Due to COVID 19, HMH experienced a reduction in force and at this time have no plans to occupy the premise per the requirements of the agreement.  I payment was not requested by HMH for Tax Year 2020.
