Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on awarding IFB T5045 CR 404 Hutto 18 Inch Waterline Realignment to Austin Underground, Inc. and authorizing the execution of the agreement. Funding source is P390.

The Purchasing Department solicited sealed bids for T5045 CR 404 Hutto 18 Inch Waterline Realignment.  The bids have been
reviewed and the apparent low bid, Austin Underground, Inc. was found to be responsive and materially balanced wioth a low bid of $2,897,639.00.  Eight (8) bids were received, with one bid being found non-responsive and rejected. The Austin Underground, Inc. bid was $1,293,672.05 lower than the engineer’s estimate, a cost savings of 30.9%. The bidding was competitive with the lowest two bidders being within 1.2% of each other.  Austin Underground, Inc. has successfully completed previous projects for local cities performing similar work. Recommendation of Award for CR 404 Hutto 18 Inch Waterline Realignment contract is to Austin Underground, Inc. in the amount of $2,897,639.00. Department Point of Contact is Christen Eschberger of HNTB.
