Approval would authorize the County Judge to sign standard forms, agreements and all related documents pertaining to the application of the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program. The County is applying for grant funding to allow a selected contractor to re-write the County's Hazard Mitigation Plan which is required by Section 322 of the Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. 5165) that requires local governments to develop a hazardous mitigation plan as a condition for receiving certain types of non-emergency disaster assistance, including funding for mitigation projects; and the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) at Title 44, Chapter 1, part 201, that requires the County to prepare and adopt a local mitigation plan every five years.
