Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action on awarding  IFB #21IFB20 South Broad and Muery Streets Projects to Chasco Constructors and authorizing the execution of the agreement. Funding Source P373.

The Purchasing Department issued the solicitation for this project and received 3 submittals. The bids have been reviewed and the apparent low bid, Chasco Constructors, was found to be responsive and materially balanced. The lowest responsive bidder was 24.9% higher than the engineer’s estimate. The bidding was competitive with the lowest two bidders being within 1% of each other. In addition to meeting the bid qualifications subject to being low bidder, Chasco Constructors has successfully completed previous Williamson County projects (Inner Loop Safety Improvements, CR 258- Sunset Ridge to Reagan, and CR110 South) performing similar work. Based on the quality of previous work done for Williamson County and their bid of $519,919.00, HNTB concurs with the Design Engineer’s (CONSOR) Recommendation of Award for the South Broad and Muery Streets Project (Coupland Projects) contract to Chasco constructors in the amount of $519,919.00. Christen Eschberger with HNTB is the point of contact.
