Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on participation by Williamson County Road Bond Program under the County's habitat conservation plan (HCP) for the Bagdad Road improvement project.

Background

Bagdad Road will be widened and improved from approximately 840 feet southeast of Aynsworth Street in the city of Liberty Hill to Spivey Road in the city of Leander in western Williamson County, Texas (project). The project extends along approximately 2.9 miles of existing roadway, within right-of-way approximately 80-200 feet wide, and covers approximately 65.4 acres (project area). The project also includes bridge replacement at the South Fork San Gabriel River and bridge improvements at the Jinks Branch crossing.  The project may impact Golden-cheeked Warbler habitat.

Staff recommends the following action: Authorize County Judge (or designee) to acknowledge/sign the Determination Letter to enroll the project under the Williamson County Regional Habitat Conservation Plan, and to execute, when presented, the Participation Agreement for this project, WCCF File #20211115 and to sign any related documents as may be required.
