Discuss, consider, and take appropriate action regarding the vacant Sergeant Investigator position in the District Attorney's Office and request for approval of an existing employee move.
Background
The District Attorney employs five Sgt Investigators. Compensation of these Investigators is according to the L3-Step Chart. The current Sgt Investigator Positions are: L3-18, L3-12 (vacant), L3-11, L3-11, L3-5.
The L3-12 Sgt Investigator position became vacant on October 5, 2021 when Matthew Lindemann left our office to assume the office of Constable Precinct 3.
We request that the L3-12 vacancy accommodate an L3-10 position (down 2 steps) and an L3-7 position (up 2 steps) resulting in these Sgt Investigator positions: L3-18, L3-11, L3-11, L3-10, L3-7 (vacant).
This request allows the new Sgt Investigator hired to fill the vacancy at the lower L3-7 level and the existing L3-5 Sgt Investigator position, with more than the requisite experience, to move to the L3-10 position.
This request is intended to maintain internal equity of our Sgt Investigator employees recognizing service with our office.
This request has been vetted with Human Resources and results in a budget savings of $294.61.
