Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on allowing HBO Love & Death to film at Williamson County owned properties.

Background

HBO is requesting the use of Williamson County owned facilites for their series Love & Death.  The requested locations are as follows:
  • Jail Sally Port-- Sheriff Gleason and Chief Pokluda have agreed
  • Justice Center Courtroom-- Judge Betsy Lambeth and Ronald Morgan have agreed to weekends and the presence of an off-duty officer
  • Historical Courthouse Rotunda and Hallways-- one day of filming that could be on a weekend designated by the county.  HBO would be required to hire and pay for a Williamson County off-duty officer
  • Historical Courthouse Exterior-- Estimated 3 days of filming on one side of the courthouse of the county's choosing.
City of Georgetown Economic Development and Main Street program are supportive of this project.  Impacted businesses will be compensated by HBO.

HBO is willing to compensate Williamson County for the use of its properties.  Attached are the proposal and letter of support from Gov. Greg Abbott.
