Discuss, consider and take appropriate action on approving a Business Associate Agreement, an update to the current contract originally approved in Commissioners Court on 10-05-21 under item # 25, and authorizing the execution of the agreement.

This contract is being updated to include a Business Associate’s Agreement (BAA) between the County and PowerDMS, Inc.
A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) is required if Personally-Identifiable Information (PII) covered by HIPAA regulations is present. Williamson County legal counsel has reviewed the BAA. The Emergency Medical Services department requests the addition of this BAA as there exists the potential of having sensitive, health-related information in some of their documents/processes being stored and processed via PowerDMS, Inc. In the future, as we continue to implement this tool enterprise-wide, the current BAA will cover any other documents that may be loaded with sensitive information.
